Some answers to your questions:
Who are Jerry and Ben? William Riley wrote a novel here in 1920 about two brothers called Jerry and Ben - set in Hebden Gill and that's it. Ok so I haven't read it yet- but I know it has nothing to do with ice cream. We have a handful of copies if you would like to write the first serious review...
Are you Fiona? Check the following: Surrounded by small children? Possibly shouting? Head in washing machine? Chasing sheep around carpark? Usually attempting to do all these things at once. You've found her.
Have you always lived here? Our family has lived in this hamlet since 1886. Jerry and Ben's has been a guest house since the 1930s; Jerry and Ben's Cottages was started in 1971 by my mother. I took over in 2004.
Do I need to bring....? Yes to the following: Torch for dog walkers and late night returners from The Clarendon, wellies, raincoats, Crocs and all things waterproof. Right that's the summer delt with.
Is there a swimming pool? Erhh no, but there's a beck (stream). Its really cold! The louder members of my family take a dip every summer. Children's fishing nets can be purchased in the village.
Why is it so dark? It's the country. There are no street lights. But that's good - it means you sleep really well. Really.
That's all for now.
